About me

For more than 15 years, I’ve enjoyed crafting digital experiences where design and front-end development overlap. I love turning ideas into thoughtful, production-ready experiences, whether that means designing reusable components, refining interactions, or simplifying a user experience.

I’m currently the Assistant Director of Digital at West Virginia University Health Sciences, where I lead the design and evolution of a mature design system that supports a large ecosystem of websites. My work spans UX and interface design, front-end development, accessibility, and design system governance, with an emphasis on building scalable, flexible, maintainable components that are intuitive to use.

I care deeply about craft and quality, especially in well-structured systems. I appreciate clear hierarchy, consistent patterns, and purposeful restraint that let interfaces feel intentional and refined.

Motion and microinteractions aren’t decoration. They provide feedback, reinforce structure, and make interfaces more enjoyable to use.

I’m always learning, whether by mentoring others, challenging my perspective, or using AI to work more effectively.

Outside of Work

My wife and I are avid LEGO builders, and our collection has taken over our home. I also enjoy Formula 1 and Pixar films. I’m often listening to a podcast or music. I love female-fronted rock bands, pop punk, and Taylor Swift. I’m an occasional gamer, and I prefer single-player indie games that I can pick up and play.

I enjoy traveling and discovering breweries in different cities or staying local and visiting breweries along the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour. Our two cats tend to supervise, claiming the warmest seat in the house and reminding me to take the occasional break.

I’ve always been passionate about animation, and lately I’ve been spending more time exploring motion design while sharing my journey on Instagram.
